What does this cover?

In December 2015 we reported on the preliminary ruling by the Brussels court against Facebook for breaches of data protection law involving the profiling of data subjects. Facebook was given a 48 hour grace period to comply with the ruling, after which point a fine would activate and they would be required to pay EUR 250,000 to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (the DPA) for each day of non-compliance.

We reported that Facebook were expected to appeal the ruling and it has now been confirmed that the case will go to the Appeal Court and the hearing is scheduled for 11 May.
