Three years after it began, the National Union of Healthcare Workers and the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United have officially ended their affiliation. During their affiliation, the unions had various disagreements over relationships with other labor organizations and allegations of raiding another union’s members.

During the SEIU’s quadrennial convention in Detroit, delegates elected Mary Kay Henry as international president for a second four-year term, Gerry Hudson as the union’s international secretary-treasurer, and Valarie Long and Rocio Sáenz were reelected as executive vice presidents. The delegates also elected five new vice presidents: Neal Bisno, Luisa Blue, Heather Conroy, Scott Courtney, and Leslie Frane.
