A bipartisan group of Senators, including the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee and the Chairman and Ranking member of the Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs and Federal Management, initiated a bipartisan effort to “review the cost, benefits and impact of regulations throughout the government” with the goal of holding hearings, conducting investigations, and examining potential improvements, including possibly introducing legislation or highlighting problems for agencies to address.

AGG has had success in showing the Committee inefficient, ineffective and counter-productive regulations, and has worked with the Committee to have bipartisan legislation introduced to address client concerns.

The scope of the regulatory review is extraordinarily broad, and includes environmental, healthcare, pharmaceutical, labor, employment and financial services issues. Below is a partial list of the more than 70 federal agencies that the Committee is looking into.

The Committee is particularly interested in “older regulations that may warrant modification or even revocation,” and the impact that any significant delays in the regulatory process may have had.

Joseph Rubin in Arnall Golden Gregory’s Washington DC office welcomes inquiries from companies that are struggling with federal regulations, particularly those that are inefficient or don’t seem to make sense.

Mr. Rubin can help frame the issues and identify possible solutions for the Committee to consider.
