FCA has issued a call for input to help it assess how firms use Big Data in the general retail insurance markets. FCA is interested in whether Big Data affects consumer outcomes or fosters or constrains competition. It also wants to assess whether its regulatory framework affects developments in Big Data in retail general insurance. FCA asks for input by 8 January 2016. Following input and meetings with stakeholders, it will decide its next steps, including whether a market study, adjustments to policy or guidance, or any other form of intervention is appropriate. It plans a policy statement for mid-2016.  (Source:FCA Calls for Big Data Evidence in General Insurance)
