Official arrested for alleged bribery over Fukushima decontamination contracts  

Japanese police have arrested an official from the Japanese Environment Ministry which oversees decontamination activities following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011. Yuji Suzuki is suspected of assisting a construction company to win government contracts for decontamination work in exchange for transportation, accommodation, meals and entertainment. The former president of the construction company, Mikio Kosugi, has also been arrested. The two individuals concerned have reportedly admitted the allegations.
