Italy – The Italian Communications Regulatory Authority launches the public consultation concerning rules for the protection of users of electronic communications services
On 18 December 2014, the Italian Communications Regulatory Authority (Autorità per le Garanzie nelle Comunicazioni – AGCOM), through Resolution no. 645/14/CONS has launched a public consultation on the approval of the “Regulation for the protection of users entering into contracts for the supply of goods and services in the electronic communications field”. The Regulation will replace Resolution no. 664/06/CONS containing the “Regulation for the protection of consumers using electronic communications services through distance contracts”. By means of this new public consultation, AGCOM aims to receive comments, observations, data and documentations from all relevant stakeholders with respect to matters affecting contracts between providers and users including, for example, users rights with reference to the conclusion of contracts, disclosure obligations in distance contracts, contractual duration, and amendments to the contractual terms and conditions.
