ABI has published a guide of good practices for insurers to comply with the Equality Act 2010 in respect of each of the “protected characteristics”. ABI stresses that the basic principle is to offer people with a protected characteristic the same cover on the same terms as other people wherever possible. This guidance is not FSA-confirmed. Insurers need to read it against the background of the guidance issued by the Equality and Human Rights Commission. (Source: ABI Equality Act Good Practice Guide)
