The Polish President has signed an amendment to the Energy Efficiency Act which extends the time the current energy efficiency support system (tradable “white certificates”) will remain in force. Previously the Energy Regulatory Authority was entitled to issue white certificates until 31 December 2015. This competence will now continue until 31 December 2016.

Meanwhile, the Energy Ministry is working on a new energy efficiency law which will bring Polish energy law into line with the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (2012/27/EU). The timeline for the adoption of the new act, which will establish a new support system for energy efficiency, is not yet known.
