The purpose of the procedure for the registration and publication of social responsibility and sustainability reports is to give visibility to the initiatives and policies developed by public and private companies and organisations on these matters, as well as the authorities.

Order ESS/1554/2016 of 29 September regulating the procedure for the registration and publication of companies, organisations and public authorities’ social responsibility and sustainability reports

The purpose of the Order is to establish the procedure for the receipt and registration of social responsibility and sustainability reports, as well as the reports addressing Directive 2014/95/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2014 and to proceed, as the case may be, to the publication thereof on the website of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security.

In essence, it is aimed at supporting the development of responsible practices by public and private organisations as a key driver of competitiveness in the country and the transformation towards a more productive, sustainable and integrated economy and society: sound practice in the area shall be publicised, as well as the results obtained from internal policies dedicated to aspects such as environmental sustainability, good governance and responsible consumption, among others.

Moreover, such exercise of transparency shall be afforded to entities which request it once their report has been issued and published
