While election years generally are not known for significant immigration legislation developments, the U.S. Congress is likely to act to address nearing expiration of several key immigration programs. E-Verify, Conrad 30 J-1 doctors, EB-5 investor program, and religious worker immigrants provisions are set to expire on September 30, 2012. These programs are of key importance to U.S. companies including major health and religious organizations, and, the newly popular EB-5 program for foreign entrepreneurs is highly significant to a number of U.S. regions benefitting from foreign investment. We will keep you updated as programs' extension undergoes congressional scrutiny.
