On 30 September, the Central Bank published the latest edition of the Intermediary Times newsletter. The newsletter addresses compliance and other information relevant to retail intermediaries. Of particular interest to the insurance sector is a reminder that social media forums which fall within the definition of advertisement in the Consumer Protection Code 2012 need to comply with all relevant regulatory requirements. The Central Bank also announces its intention to engage with firms which have failed to comply with the obligation to submit a list of employees performing pre-approval controlled functions and the ongoing obligation in relation to the Annual PCF Confirmation Return. This engagement is due to take place in October/November this year.
