Canada's privacy commissioners and ombudspersons have issued a joint resolution calling on the federal government to "take all steps necessary to ensure the standards and values behind Canadian privacy laws are not diminished as programs to fulfill the Canada - US perimeter security action plan are developed." The joint resolution follows an earlier submission by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada on perimeter security.
