Acknowledging the problems and complexity that cybercrime represents, through Resolution N° 69/2016 (published in the Official Gazette on February 16, 2016) the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights created the National Program to Combat Cybercrime (the “Program”).

The creation of the Program aims, among other purposes, to promote the necessary actions to improve criminal justice responses against cybercrime challenges.

At the same time, it promotes efficiency in the investigation of criminal cases by using modern means of obtaining evidence based on computer technology and telecommunications, making sure that their use is governed by rules in accordance to citizens’ fundamental rights.

To this end, Mr. Marcos G. Salt was appointed Coordinator of the Program.

The Program complements and is one step forward in different legislative and organizational efforts to combat cybercrime in Argentina.
