An individual shareholder of CTBC filed a suit against CTBC, alleging that the resolutions adopted in CTBC’s regular shareholders meeting on June 29, 2015 were against the law.  In a judgment dated April 29, 2016, the Shilin District Court dismissed the lawsuit, holding that  the plaintiff could not initiate the suit because the plaintiff failed to express objections at the time of the meeting, and that in any event the said resolution concerning CTBC’s long-term funding was not contrary to law.  (Tsar & Tsai represented CTBC in obtaining the winning judgment in this case.)
