The Commission has published a Green Paper seeking views on how to improve choice, transparency and competition in retail financial services to the benefit of European consumers and how to facilitate true cross-border supply of these services.  The paper also covers the impact of digitalisation on retail financial services. The paper covers a wide range of services and products, including retail banking and current accounts, payment services, credit cards, mortgages and other credit and different kinds of insurance. It says it is not looking specifically to revise any particular piece of legislation, but the responses to consultation may cause it to make changes.  Consultation closes on 18 March 2016.
