On 31 December 2015, Decree-Law No. 254-A/2015 was published, approving an update of the minimum wage amount.
Thus, as from 1 January 2016, the amount of the minimum wage was increased to € 530.00 (five hundred and thirty euros). This update has repercussions particularly in determining the maximum amounts of compensation payable in case of termination of employment contracts by means of collective or individual redundancy.
