ICSA has published a draft suite of guidance documents that DBIS will issue to help companies understand how to comply with the requirement to keep a register of Persons with Significant Control (PSCs). The requirement will take effect from 6 April 2016. There will be both statutory and non-statutory guidance, and DBIS is also preparing guidance for PSCs. The guidance explains how to identify PSCs, the obligation to register and how to keep the register up to date. It explains the notion of public and protected information and explains the consequences of companies choosing to keep their PSC information on their own register. Finally it advises on what companies should do if they cannot get the right information on PSCs and how restrictions can be imposed or lifted. It also includes suggested wordings for companies to use. ICSA asks for comments by 11 January, before DBIS launches the guidance. (Source: DBIS Consults on PSC Register Guidance)
