CFTC seeking public comment on Korea Exchange Inc. petition for exemption from DCO registration. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is asking for public comment on a petition by Korea Exchange Inc. for exemption from registration as a derivatives clearing organization (DCO). Comments should be submitted on or before September 1, 2015. (8/18/2015) DCO registration exemption.

CFTC commissioner resigns. CFTC Commissioner Mark P. Wetjen, who facilitated the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act, announced his resignation from the CFTC, effective August 28th, 2015. (8/14/2015) Wetjen resignation.

Relief from transaction-level reporting requirements. The Division of Swap Dealer and Intermediary Oversight, the Division of Clearing and Risk, and the Division of Market Oversight have extended the no-action relief previously granted to CFTC-registered, non-US SDs from certain transaction level reporting requirements. NY resident and his company charged. The CFTC charged Gary Creagh and his company, Wall Street Pirate Management LLC, with violating the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA) by making false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements or omissions to the National Futures Association (NFA) in statutorily required reports and during an NFA audit. Position limit comment period extended. The Division of Market Oversight granted ICE Futures US a 45-day extension of the public comment period and a 60-day extension of the stay period for ICE Futures US’s proposed amendments that would adopt a new estimation for deliverable supply on which position limits for eight of their NYISO Zone G futures contracts would be based.
