The Claims Management Regulator (CMR), whose role it is to ensure that authorised claims management companies (CMCs) are operating within the rules, has published a report on the actions it has taken in Q1 2015. 

During the first three months of 2015 the CMR has used its powers to take the following action against authorised CMCs:

  • 5 investigations started;
  • 3 licences cancelled;
  • 61 warnings issued;
  • 26 visits to CMCs; and
  • 97 audits carried out.
