About 350 United SteelWorkers (USW) members at the BPHusky Toledo Refinery unconditionally called off their strike, despite the fact that the union and BP have yet to come to a new bargaining agreement. The strike began February 8, 2015, and spread to 15 plants across the United States. Industry negotiators and union officials ultimately agreed on a framework for a national agreement in midMarch. Since then, workers at most of the plants that went on strike have approved new deals and gone back to work. With the union’s decision to end the strike in Toledo, the only facility still on strike is Marathon Petroleum Corp.’s Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City, Texas.
