On 8 April 2015, the Council of the European Union published its “Position at first reading” on the Second Information Accompanying Transfers of Funds Regulation (the Regulation).
The Council has now passed what’s likely to be the final text of the Regulation to the European Parliament, in the hope and expectation that it will be approved without amendment at second reading. The date for the second reading has not been set; but it’s likely to (a) coincide with the second reading of the Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive; and (b) take place in the relatively near term. (Our related blog about the Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive is here.)
The European Parliament’s legislative observatory file for the Regulation is here. The Parliament will update this file when the anticipated date of second reading has been set.
