David Cameron and European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker are meeting today to try to come to an agreement on the UK’s proposed reforms on welfare benefits for migrants. According to reports, the EU is expected to make its proposals for UK membership reform on Monday to try to reach an agreement in time for February’s summit, which would then allow the UK referendum to be held in June. The Prime Minister is thought to have backing for his other three negotiating demands, but the benefit restrictions are being resisted by Central European Member States, who view it as discriminatory against their citizens.
