The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) has recently called for pragmatism in the wording of data protection reforms. Among the EDPS’ recommendations, there are proposals to simplify the planned new rules on data protection impact assessments and the reporting of data breaches to regulators and affected customers. The EDPS has highlighted the importance of providing corresponding guidance to the Regulation in order to minimise excessive detail in the Regulation itself.
