EIOPA has published its annual work programme for 2016 setting out its priorities for the year ahead:

  • to ensure transparency, simplicity, accessibility and fairness across the internal market for consumers;
  • to lead the development of sound and prudent regulations supporting the EU internal market;
  • to improve the quality, efficiency and consistency of the supervision of EU insurers and occupational pensions; and
  • to identify, assess, mitigate and manage risks and threats to the financial stability of the insurance and occupational pensions sectors.

For each objective the programme indicates relevant activities, products, and resources EIOPA needs to deliver them. It also provides an overview of risks that can affect EIOPA’s functioning and the necessary mitigation steps to tackle them. (Source: EIOPA publishes 2016 work programme)
