Further to our previous article, the health surcharge is expected to be introduced in April this year, with further announcements expected shortly. Once introduced, visa application fees will substantially increase to incorporate an estimated health surcharge of £150 for students and £200 for other non-EEA migrants per year. While we are still waiting for further information on the surcharge, given the increase in costs which will be associated with it, it would be cost-effective for employers who are planning to sponsor employees around this time to plan accordingly.
