In 2011 the Government announced its intention to review sections 6 and 7 of the Resource Management Act 1991 and announced the establishment of a technical advisory group (TAG).
The Government released the TAG Report on RMA Principles today. Key recommendations include:
- Some significant proposed amendments to sections 6 and 7
- Strengthening the treatment of natural hazards under the RMA
- Incorporating and consolidating existing land drainage/river management provisions in previous legislation into the Local Government Act 2002.
