The Government of Ireland is being taken before the European Court of Justice over an award by the Department of Justice for interpretation services. According to the European Commission, the weightings attributable to award criteria were changed after the date for submission of bids. It is alleged that this considerably changed the emphasis of award criteria compared to what had originally been advertised and therefore would materially affect the way in which the tenders would be judged.
