BEREC seeks views on guidelines to implement new net neutrality rules
In November 2015, an EU Regulation was adopted for the purpose of safeguarding equal and nondiscriminatory
treatment of traffic in the provision of Internet Access Service. This Regulation came
into force on 30 April 2016 and requires the Body of European Regulators for Electronic
Communications (BEREC ) to provide guidance on its implementation by the national regulatory
For this purpose, BEREC prepared a draft of the guidelines for the implementation of the new net
neutrality rules. This draft was recently published for public consultation. The role of the public
consultation is to provide the BEREC with valuable feedback from stakeholders. The consultation
closes on 18 July 2018. BEREC will then publish a summary of all contributions received, respecting
any confidentiality requests.
