The Government has made the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (Commencement No.3 Transitional Provisions, Savings and Consequential Amendments) Order 2015 which confirms that the substantive provisions of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA) relating to goods, digital content, services and unfair terms will come into force on 1 October 2015 (and 1 April 2016 in relation to consumer transport services contracts). The CRA will seek to:
- Consolidate and amend the rules on rights and remedies for defective goods and services.
- Introduce new rights and remedies for digital content.
- Reform the law on unfair terms in consumer contracts and consumer notices.
