On May 4th, the Southern District of New York addressed what appears to be an issue of first impression, the Dodd-Frank Act's whistleblower anti-retaliation provisions. It held that a plaintiff claiming such protection must report the alleged misconduct to the SEC. Egan v. TradingScreen Brokerage Services, LLC.
