On the last 15th September, the Council of Ministers dedicated to the Health Sector approved a set of general principles for the promotion and advertising applicable to the producers, distributors and sellers of medical devices.

According to unofficial source from the INFARMED – National Authority of the Health Products, I.P., it will be approved in this regard a measure according to which the medical devices companies will also have to declare the sponsorship, the offers and the subsidies granted to the healthcare professionals.

In this regard, similar to what is already established in relation to the pharmaceutical industry, the industry responsible for the marketing of medical devices will also be subject to the obligation of transparency and publicity.

The measure approved by the Council of Ministers intends to monitor and registry any conflicts of interests and dubious relationships that may exist between the medical devices companies and the healthcare professionals who receive these type of benefits.
