The Government has published an update on the delivery of its anti-corruption plan. It notes many initiatives have been completed, including:

  • National Crime Agency (NCA) producing regular reports and alerts on bribery and corruption and setting up a national intelligence team;
  • the Home Office developing a model for a single reporting mechanism for allegations of corruption and, with DBIS, considering better incentivisation for whistleblowing;
  • development of the beneficial ownership registry; and
  • sectoral actions to improve awareness of corruption laws and risks.

Actions behind schedule include the Home Office initiatives to improve how corruption is recorded in national crime reporting and to raise public awareness of how to report corruption. (Source: Government updates on anti-corruption plan)
