CMA to conduct retail banking survey: CMA has published a notice of intention to conduct a survey of personal current account customers. CMA is not planning on surveying a full sample of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) customers. Instead, it will use survey datasets, supplemented with short, focused interviews with a subset of SMEs. The survey will rely on the Charterhouse Research Business Banking Survey as well as follow-up interviews with two different groups of SMEs. The first set of interviews will focus on price transparency and the price negotiation process. The second will focus on how new SMEs and those coming to the end of their free banking period make decisions when choosing a business current account. (Source: Invitation to Comment on SME Survey)
