The Council for Mortgage Lenders introduced amendments to the CML Lenders Handbook on 1 December 2014. Details of the changes can be found here on the CML website. A notable clarification in relation to planning and building regulations approval is confirmation that where a conveyancer can provide an unqualified certificate of title in relation to planning and building regulations, the lender will not insist upon indemnity insurance. The clarification confirms that the Part 2 question relating to time limits has been removed, on the basis that the lender will rely upon the professional judgement of its conveyancer.
