The Israeli Ministry of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Resources has announced the start of an official tender process for offshore blocks. The tender offers 24 of Israel’s 69 blocks, selected by the Ministry based on data reflecting a high potential for gas discovery.

As we reported previously, the tender process is part of a wider effort by the government to encourage foreign energy companies to participate in the exploration of Israel’s offshore economic zone.

The commencement date for bid submissions begins on 1 March 2017 and comes to a close 21 April 2017. The Ministry plans to announce successful bidders in July 2017.

The tender documents, accessed here, provide additional information pertaining to the process.
