The Departments of Commerce and Transportation announced October 18 a partnership to target federal investments in rail, highway, and airport infrastructure to domestic manufacturers. Under the Department of Commerce’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership, the federal government will help domestic suppliers meet Buy America provisions in a bid to boost domestic manufacturing, offering technical assistance for more than 34,000 of the country’s suppliers as they tweak their manufacturing capabilities to meet global demand.
