Siberian Chemical Combine

The CEO of Siberian Chemical Combine (belonging to TVEL), Mr Vladimir Korotkevich, has been arrested for allegedly taking a bribe.

Mr Korotkevich’s deputy for procurement, Mr Leonid Romanenko, his deputy for finances, Mr Yuriy Kungurov, and a TVEL official, Mr Timur Bukeykhanov, have also been detained.

Investigators believe that the men assisted the International Centre for Technology and Trade Director General in securing a contract on coal procurement worth 557.2 million roubles (US$16.75 million) in return for bribes totalling 6.79 million rubles (US$204,200).
