The Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) in the EP is continuing its debate on credit rating agency (CRA) reform. Its debate on 29 February covered banning unsolicited sovereign debt ratings and setting up a body to rate EU Member States' creditworthiness. ECON is also looking at methods for reducing reliance on CRA ratings, resolving conflicts of interest, and how ESMA can assess the methodology of CRA ratings.
