Basel reports on US Basel III compliance: Alongside the RCAP report on the EU (see above), Basel published its RCAP report on the US' compliance with Basel III. It evaluated the US against only 13 of the 14 components, as the US uses only the advanced measurement approaches for operational risk. Of these 13, it found the US compliant in seven, largely compliant in two others, but materially non-compliant in the securitisation framework and the standardised approach for market risk. Basel consults on NSFR: The Basel Committee is consulting on disclosure standards for the Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR). Disclosure will improve the transparency of regulatory funding requirements and reinforce liquidity standards. The Basel Committee says banks should adopt a common public disclosure framework so participants can consistently assess funding risk. Consultation closes on 6 March 2015 and the Basel Committee plans to ask supervisors to require their regulated banks to comply with it from the first reporting period after 1 January 2018.
