On 11 December 2015, the U.S. Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) announced that it and the China Anti-Money Laundering Monitoring and Analysis Center had signed a MOU to create a framework to facilitate expanded U.S. - China collaboration, communication, and cooperation between both nations’ financial intelligence units.

FinCEN confirmed that the MOU “… establishes that the information to be exchanged is to be used only in an authorized manner and treated in a confidential manner.”
