On June 12, 2015, a decree that amends several provisions of the FLL regarding "Youth Labor", was published on the Federation's Official Gazette.

The aim of this reform, in addition to adapting our legislation to international treaties which Mexico is part of, is to regulate the work of such employees, by incorporating important changes, like the increase of the age limit for working, the prohibition for overtime work and working on Sundays, the requirement of having completed up to middle school, a mandatory medical certificate to be able to work, the regulation of work within the family circle, as well as an obligation of keeping records and documentation available to authorities.

This reform establishes sanctions ranging from 1 to 4 years of prison and fines of 250 to 5000 times the general minimum wage.
