Since our February 2011 e-Bulletin, the Aviation Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2011 have come into force. These have been introduced as a result of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme Directive which requires the European Commission to maintain an up to date list of aircraft operators. The Regulations allow non-UK designated aircraft operators to apply to the Secretary of State to be considered as UK aircraft operators.
