On 29 June 2015, the Bank of England (BoE) published its latest money and credit statistical release which showed that total lending to individuals increased by £3.1 billion in May, compared to the average monthly increase of £2.8 billion over the previous six months. Lending secured on dwellings also increased in May by £2.1 billion, compared to average monthly increases of £1.8 billion over the previous six months.  Consumer credit increased in line with the average monthly increase over the previous six months.  The three-month annualised and twelve-month growth rates were 8.5% and 7.2% respectively.
