Last month, the Department of Homeland Security published interim policies, procedures, and guidelines required by the Cybersecurity Act of 2015.  Title I of the Act, entitled the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA), calls for processes and protections for sharing cybersecurity threat information between government and private sector entities.  The interim regulations consist of (1) guidance to non-federal entities on how to share information; (2) guidance as to how government agencies share information; (3) guidelines for privacy and civil liberties; and (4) policies and procedures for how the government will receive and use threat data shared under the Act.
