- On November 6, 2007, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa presented the priorities of the Slovenian Presidency of the EU which will run from January 1, 2008 for a six-month term. Key priorities include: the integration of the countries in the Western Balkans into the EU and the follow-up to the process of ratification of the Lisbon Treaty (Europolitics, November 8, 2007, p. 1)
- On November 7, 2007, Turkey warned France against trying to ruin its aspirations of EU membership by manipulating a “wise men’s committee” which is expected to pronounce on the EU’s long term future (FT, November 8, 2007, p. 2)
