EBA has published its first Annual Report on Risks and Vulnerabilities of the European banking sector. Together with its assessment of current conjuncture and of the necessary recalibration of bank strategies, EBA says that close and forward-looking monitoring by supervisors will continue to play an important role in returning to sustainable bank funding. Asset quality deterioration is being addressed with provisioning and a greater supervision of the risk caused by loan-modification and arrears management. Supervisory attention will increase in respect of single market segmentation and shadow banking. (Source:EBA Report on Risks and Vulnerabilities of the European Banking Sector)
