ECB has published its opinion on the extension of the exemption from the Capital Requirements Regulation for commodity dealers. It believes the proposed extension should be temporary, pending a proper proposal on the prudential regime for all investment firms. It says any permanent decision should take into account an analysis of the systemic risk exempt dealers pose.
