TPR has published for consultation six "how to" guides to accompany the revised DC governance code of practice, due to come into effect in July 2016. The guides address each of the six key areas included in the code and offer practical information for trustees on how to satisfy the new governance standards.

As with other TPR guides, the intention behind the publications is not prescriptive. Rather, trustees would refer to them for an insight into TPR’s expectations and approach in given areas. Usefully, the guides include several examples of what TPR considers to be best practice in certain areas.

The consultation runs until 11 May 2016. TPR expects to publish final versions of the guides, with its formal consultation response, in July 2016 when the revised code comes into force.
