ACAS have just released a new guidance entitled ‘Managing redundnacy for pregnant employees or those on maternity leave.
In conjunction with ACAS, the EHRC, Eversheds hosted a roundtable discussion with a variety of clients to discuss, and help shape, the guidance which was released on 12 July 2012. Eversheds were part an expert working group that helped form the guidance. The ‘good practice’ guide looks at correctly handling redundancy processes from an employer’s perspective, when employees who are pregnant or on maternity leave may be affected.
