Following our previous client update "Next Tenders on the Way - Franchises for Israeli Government Sponsored Technological Incubator" (see link below), we would like to inform you that the Office of the Chief Scientist of the Israeli Ministry of Economy (OCS) published three tenders for franchises to form and operate government-supported technological incubators.
The tenders are for incubators in the districts of Haifa, Acre (which covers also Misgav and Tefen) and the Golan (one incubator for each region). The franchisees in Acre and the Golan, which are periphery districts, will be entitled to expanded government support not only for the R&D of their portfolio companies but also for the operational costs of the incubators.
The new tenders include two major differences compared to previous tenders. Preference will be given to bidders that are comprised of more than one shareholder. Also, the minimum financial commitment that is required from the bidders has been increased to NIS 50M.
Deadline for submitting a bid proposal is July 15, 2015.
The Ministry of Economy announced that later this year it intends to publish additional tenders for incubators in other regions.
